Yeah, Aidan's reaction here is a little extreme, but I'm sure a lot of guys grit their teeth at the "Notice anything different?" line. It's right up there with "Do I look fat?" in those awful doomed questions that I will never inflict on a male. Unless I'm trying to get on his nerves, as Irene is doing here.
This one was kind of rushed - it stemmed from the idea that I had to draw Irene differently, and came from a conversation overheard at work. But I wanted to put a strip on the front page that didn't look as abysmal as the last one. Next week, if I get the time and opportunity, the strip will be breaking the fourth wall to explain a few things. If I get the time. No promises.
